The PERSONALITY ADVANTAGE
HOW DOES IT WORK?

We use two powerful tools to help you understand yourself as a dog owner. The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicators) reveals your natural communication style — how you think, make decisions, and relate to others. CliftonStrengths 34 uncovers what you naturally do best. Together, they give us a complete picture of how you show up for your dog — and where there's room to grow together.

Applying these assessments to dog training shifts the focus from how you think to how you handle a living, breathing partner.
The Personality Assessment Package
Part 1: The Consultation
Which "lens" do you need?

Together we will determine whether you are struggling with your energy and communication (MBTI) or your execution and consistency (CliftonStrengths 34).

The MBTI: The Energy Match
Focuses on your training style.
Are you a
Thinker (T) who focuses
on technical precision
and mechanics
or

Feeler (F) who prioritizes
the emotional bond and
vibe of the session?

This helps you understand why you might get
frustrated if your dog isn't "logical" or why you might struggle to set firm boundaries.

CliftonStrengths 34 : The Tool Kit
Focuses on your natural advantage
If you have
High Consistency you’ll excel at the repetitive nature of clicker training.
High Empathy you’ll be a pro at reading subtle canine body language.
Achiever you might push your dog too fast toward a goal and need to learn to slow
down.

Part 2: Training the Trainer
Identifying What Your Dog Needs

In this 60-minute session, the coach treats your results as a manual for your dog’s best teacher.
1. The Self-Audit (15 mins)
We'll reflect on real moments — a recent training win, a recent struggle — and explore which of your natural traits showed up in both. Then we'll look at your results through your dog's eyes.
If you're an ENTP, for example, your pup might love your creative energy but crave a little more consistency in the routine.
2. Identifying The Friction (20 mins)
This is the core of the session. You’ll map your traits against your dog’s temperament:

The High-Drive Dog vs. The "Deliberative" Owner If you have the Deliberative strength, you take your time and weigh risks. A high-energy Malinois might get bored or destructive while you’re still "planning" the exercise.

The Sensitive Dog vs. The "Command" Owner: If you have the Command strength, you naturally take charge. A soft-natured Golden Retriever might shut down if your
"leadership" comes across as too intense.

3. Strategy & Translation (15 mins)
The coach helps you "translate" your personality into "Dog."
The Strategy:
If you lack Consistency, you might set a phone alarm for 5-minute
sessions rather than relying on your mood.

The Pivot:
If you are a Introvert (I), you might find group classes draining. The coach might suggest 1-on-1 sessions where you have the mental "quiet" to focus on your dog's cues.

The 7-Day Training Goal (10 mins)
You leave with one specific adjustment. Instead of "training the dog,"you are "managing yourself."
Example:
This week, because I have the Competition strength, I will stop comparing my puppy's progress to the dogs on Instagram and focus only on beating our "Personal Best" from yesterday.

A dog's "temperament" is the intersection of a breed's genetic history (their original"job") and the individual dog's personality.
Matching your traits to these breed-specific patternscan reveal why certain training moments feel like a breeze or a battle.
Why my background in Career Counseling makes me a better trainer for you.
Most dog training focuses on mechanics — where to hold the leash, when to click. But real connection goes deeper than that.

Drawing on years of coaching experience, I help you explore how your unique personality interacts with your dog's individual temperament. Because neither of you learns well when stressed, fearful, or overwhelmed, we start by understanding your partnership dynamic — then use it to:

Align Your Energies — Discover where your personalities click and where they clash.

Foster Trust — Move beyond commands into genuine mutual understanding.

Thrive Together — Build a lasting bond where both of you feel seen, heard, and understood.
Every dog has a language. Let's learn yours together.
